Scrapbook Paper Space Wreath Craft
This simple wreath craft has a black painted paper plate with punches of circles for the planets and punches yellow stars. A great way to be creative about making a space wreath with kids.
You can do this with kids in preschool (ages 3 to 4), prek (ages 4 to 5), kindergarten (ages 5 to 6), and first grade (ages 6 to 7). And yes, older kids could make this as well.

These are all the supplies that we used to make the scrapbook paper space wreath craft.
- paper plate
- large paint brush
- watercolors
- scrapbook paper
- yellow glitter paper
- glue
- 1 1/2 circle punch
- 1 inch circle punch
- 5/8 inch circle punch
- 2 1/5 inch star punch
- 5/8 inch star punch
How we made the Scrapbook Paper Space Wreath Craft
You can see the steps below that we used to make the Scrapbook Paper Space wreath craft.
Step 1: Paint the Paper Plate Black
The first thing you are going to do is to paint the white paper plate black. You can use watercolors for this. It dries really fast and is easy to use at the same time as you prepare other parts of the wreath craft.
You could also skip this step and use a black paper plate in place of painting the plate.
Step 2: Punch Out the Planets
We picked out loads of colors and made different sizes of different colors. A fun way to make colors. You can see we used the scrapbook paper for the planets.
We used the punches to punch out the circles. This goes really fast and kids will love picking out the colors of their plants. You will use several colors of paper for the planets.
You can see we have a mix of sizes and colors of for the planets. You can do a few or as many as you want.
Step 3: Punch out the Stars
Next you will put out the stars. You have two different sizes of the stars. You can do as many or as few of the different sizes as you want.
We use glitter paper for the stars to make them stick out.
You can see our collection of stars below. And it is fun for kids to punch out the stars.
Now if you punch out the stars in advance then turn the punch upside down to save on paper. You can see where you can get the most punches out of the paper.
You could let older kids doing this craft do this as well.
Step 4: Place the Stars on the Wreath
You can see below we have placed the stars on the wreath. We just place them to get spacing around the wreath.
You can skip the placing and go straight to step 6 is that is easier for your kids.
Step 5: Place the Planets on the Wreath
Next we placed the planets around the wreath. It is fun to see how it will look when we are finished. You can skip the placing and go straight to step 6 is that is easier for your kids.
Step 6: Glue the Stars and Planets in Place
Finally we glue all the stars and planets in place around the wreath. It is a simple space activity to do with kids. And the results are always fun.
