There are many different ways to work on learning to read and one of those is rhyming. There are many types of word you can work on with rhyming.
The CVC Rhyming Matching Card Printables works on matching words that rhyming with on a picture of the word and one a writen CVC word. Both have the same rhyming ending and is a fun change for rhyming CVC words.

What are CVC words?
CVC words are words that have a consonant vowel consonant pattern. They have easy to sound out consonants with a short vowel sound in the middle. They don’t have any tricky blends or digraphs for kids to work around.

CVC Rhyming Matching Card Printable includes a set of cards: one with a picture and a matching card with a written word. They are both words with the same ending sound with different beginning sounds.
You can see an example of the CVC “a” words below. There are 27 sets of cards. This is a great printable for kids in kindergarten and first grade.

Preparing the CVC Rhyming Matching Cards for Kids
I recommend printing on white cardstock and laminating the cards so that they last longer.
If you are only going to use these once you can just print on cardstock.
CVC Rhyming Matching Card Game
You can do simple matching games. You can have the CVC cards face up for beginners and down for more advanced learners. They match the cards that rhyme. This is a great way to work on sounding out words and finding same word ending.
You can use the CVC word family bookmarks to help as well. They have lists of CVC words and go great with the cards.
Write Your CVC Rhyming Word Matches
Then after they finish the matching you can have them write down on paper the match cards they did. This is a good way to reinforce what they have been working on. I have lined paper you can use to write the words on.
Matching Rhyming Cards on Rings
Another fun way to do this is to put both sets of cards on rings and match them flip through the cards to find the match. I suggest keeping the number of cards to small sets rather than all of them.
